Life at Olympia House

Life at Olympia House is about more than care—it’s about creating a vibrant and fulfilling lifestyle. Residents can enjoy the comfort of our homely communal areas and our secure well maintained garden spaces.

Our three outdoor garden areas provide a peaceful environment for relaxation, socialising, or simply enjoying the fresh air during the warmer months.

Our care staff and activities team ensure there’s always something engaging to do. With a diverse programme that includes physical activities such as weekly visits from fitness groups (Fit Baw, chair exercises, and a fitness instructor) as well as social events with visiting entertainers, we aim to cater to every interest.

We have strong community links, with visits from local nurseries, schools, and even music teachers who bring along their students. We also have a minibus to support outings and trips and for a touch of pampering the hairdresser visits weekly.

We encourage community involvement and support spiritual practices, ensuring all residents feel connected and purposeful.

Olympia House has well established professional connections with external partners, including GP services (just a 5-minute walk from the care home) who visit weekly or as needed. We also have visits from care home liaison nurses, optical services, dental services, and podiatry services.

Dining and Nutrition

At Olympia House, we believe that great food is at the heart of a happy and healthy life. Our dedicated kitchen team prepares delicious home cooked meals using fresh, high quality ingredients.

Our menu is varied and thoughtfully crafted to meet the nutritional needs of residents while catering to personal preferences. Whether it’s a traditional Scottish meal, fish and chips, or even a curry, we take residents’ views into account when planning our menus.

For those with specific dietary requirements, our kitchen team and care staff work closely with dietitians and speech and language therapists to ensure all needs are met.

Residents can also enjoy delicious home baked treats and snacks available throughout the day.

Our goal is to provide wholesome, home cooked food that not only nourishes the body and lifts spirits but also creates a sense of home. Our well designed dining areas encourage socialisation, making mealtimes a joyful and communal experience.

A Personalised Touch

At Olympia House, we encourage residents to bring personal belongings to create a space that feels like home. Whether it’s photographs, pictures for the walls, or decorative items such as vases, ornaments, lamps, or clocks and even your own bedding. We welcome it all!

Whatever you wish to add to personalise your space and make it truly your own, we’re here to help.

We can accommodate larger items such as furniture and televisions, and our maintenance team and care staff are on hand to support residents in arranging their spaces to feel just like home.

We believe that by fostering this sense of individuality, we help our residents feel truly at ease and at home.

Testimonials

I can easily say these guys have been brilliant with my mum. She's now there permanently and they provide a great service. From the managers, office staff nurses and care workers, even to the kitchen staff. Absolutely fantastic and I have no hesitation in recommending this care home. Highly satisfied. Thank you Olympia House. My mother has so picked up since she moved there in November. That's all down to the manager and staff.

Cath D (Daughter of Resident)

Staff are great, cannot fault them in any way from owner down to carers.
Great activities are run in-house by a particular member of staff and also have days and evenings out like boat trips and canal trips and the theatre.
All in all great place.

 Adam M(Respite Resident)

Naturally, it took a few weeks for my cousin to settle and for the staff to get to know her and understand her needs. Since then she’s been well cared for and a gentle non-patronising way. She’s very happy and settled which is reassuring after the resistance she displayed to going in. She is enjoying the food and eating well. Thank you so much to all the caring dedicated staff.

Aileen W (Cousin of Resident)
